I have always admired Safe Horizon. While I was doing an internship with a domestic violence shelter, I heard a lot about Safe Horizon and the services that are offered there. That's why when I was referred to a crisis counselor there, I was shocked that the services I received were not great. Perhaps it was just the wrong counselor for me. Then I was referred to a counselor that accepted my insurance for long term counseling. I spoke with her once, and then left her a voice mail. Never heard from her again, which in my opinion is very unprofessional. Never got any follow up phone calls either. I'm not attempting to return there for counseling. I will look for another place to receive therapy.
