Asylum Seekers
The Human Rights Clinic (HRC) conducts forensic psychological, medical, and gynecological evaluations of foreign-born survivors of torture and other human rights abuses for use in immigration proceedings. Evaluations are performed by HRC-trained volunteer medical and mental health professionals.
Languages:
Eligibility: Adults and children in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut that are seeking: Asylum, Witholding of Removal, protection under the Convention Against Torture (CAT), U or T-Visas or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS).
Fee: They charge legal representatives a coordination fee. Following the initial screening, they use a sliding scale to determine the fee for the evaluation.

A respectable non profit organization. Their funding goes to good use, and the employees are friendly. Conveniently located right next to NYU as well.
