My experience here was bittersweet. The medical team is super sweet and considerate The social workers are nice so are the intake people. The food is super good The Ra’s are nice and cool. the only issue is the security guards you can tell they are only here for a paycheck and don’t have any real care for youth. The way they speak about us especially the heavy set older man that is on duty at night is disgusting. This not the place to be just for a check you are dealing with traumatized children.

covenant house has been nothing but good to me during this hard time in my life. they have not only provided me with food, clothing, housing, and other basic necessities, they have also provided me with care and support. each of the dedicated staff here have supported me through each step of the way and have motivated me to continue with the personal goals/dreams and academic aspirations that i have. the shared spaces are maintained clean by an amazing group of housekeepers who always have a smile on their face. i know where to get mental health support when i need it. the staff here goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything that you need— they were kind enough to do everything in their power to provide me with a device so that i could do my schoolwork. i am truly so blessed and grateful to everyone here for helping me feel a little less alone. to any youth thinking of coming to cov, i highly recommend that you do. although this is a temporary shelter, they will help place you into a TIL (transitional living), and will help you through the process with love and patience.

Clean and tidy shelter. But they don't accept adult males over 20 years old ~ they only serve women and children. ~I understood them, so I supported them, and they let me leave and go to a shelter for other men.😂😂😂😂😂😂

They help you if you want to help yourself, stay away from drama and focus on yourself. Work and show that you want to get out of there fast. Keep your things locked up people will try to steal from you. Be respectful to staff as you will want them to respect you. Other then that you get 3 meals a day and the rooms are pretty decent.
