Graduate of their boot camp 3 yrs ago. Their schpiel is "helping women achieve financial stability/security through a baking career." How is this achievable with a 21k a year salary? They just want bodies for their partner businesses. If they REALLY wanted to help us, they'd train us for leadership roles and find us placement in these roles. If your graduates aren't making upwards of 50k , this program is nothing more than a self-serving tax write off. That's not even the worst of it!! they operate out of *SPANISH HARLEM* from a place called *LA MARQUETA*, yet *THEY FORBID* their employees/students from speaking Spanish(or other languages that aren't English) on the premises, EVEN IF STUDENTS SPEAK TO EACH OTHER!! THEY'LL THREATEN TO KICK YOU OUT! They're so insecure that we might be talking about them. This company/program, and the vast majority of their partners, are just parts of a pseudo-woke white liberal (which are worse than loud and proud ra*ists) circle jerk. Took me this long to realize I wasn't the problem for wanting ACTUAL inclusion and personal development.

Places very racist they big and big me to come to the interview and after I came they claimed that they liked it everything about me but once I got home they sent me an email saying we'll apologize but we choose we choose not to move forward basically they were just discriminating without actually doin it. Also I saw a wreck in the kitchen went out when they took me through a trial

In terms of there Culinary program The Chefs are patient and dedicated and for the most part do there jobs well ,they try to simulate a kitchen environment so it's not always so relaxed or warm and fuzzy . You the candidate are no longer a person you are a product , to be molded and churned out into a position at one of there partners kitchen for example Googles cooperate cafeteria. You get to meet lots of different people from dif walks of life , they have guest speakers , chefs that might come in threw out the day to cook or talk about there role . One thing I find was lacking was mental health support and emotional support . Sonam who is in charge technically of human resources and outreach can be extremely dismissive . Opening up to them is something I regret, for a non profit space that is supposed to care about people and be inclusive I didn't always feel safe talking to them about my home life, my struggles etc without being judged , human resource employee technically should be warm empathetic and not cold . There should be on site counselors !!!!! The course should also be longer !!!!! the only reason they put so much pressure on candidates is cause the program is short , and they have to supply there sponsors with new employee. It's very much about helping them not you at the expense of your mental health . If you read this change the course to make it atleast 2 months !!!!

I attended my first interview with HBK and left within 30 minutes of being there and having an experience that triggered an anxiety attack. I did not find Hot Bread Kitchen to be inclusive.

I found the place pretty ok. I mean, I'm proud to work there and do what I do best. And the good thing is that they keep me busy while I'm packing all the bread. So I may consider this a good opportunity to learn several things on which bread is that or the other.
